As we honour courage and sacrifice at Remembrance, our students heard the extraordinary story of one man who risked everything for his country. Former diplomat and author, Mr Tim Willasey-Wilsey CMG, visited Reed’s to share the history behind his new book, The Spy and the Devil. It tells the true story of Bill de Ropp, an MI6 agent operating inside Nazi Germany in the 1930s, who befriended senior Nazi officials, even meeting Hitler, to provide vital intelligence as war approached. Mr Willasey-Wilsey began with a workshop for Sixth Form English students, revealing his journey from diplomat to first-time author and the 30 months of research behind the book. Later, he captivated parents, staff, and pupils with tales of espionage, courage, and moral complexity. Apparently it's the hottest start to May ever today! So we opened up the outdoor Summer Library to ensure that pupils can read, revise and play chess in the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful surroundings we are so lucky to have at Reed's. Aled, First Form, commented "I really love the vibe of the outdoor library and henceforth it will be called the VIBRARY!" Huge thanks to our amazing Gardening team - Will, Kim & Vicky - for all their hard work! 🌱🌳🥀🌸🌼🪻🌷 #library  #outdoorlibrary  #beautifulgardens  #summervibes
