A long-term supporter of the Foundation

The Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation (‘Royal SpringBoard’) provides children and young people with life-changing opportunities through access to fully-funded places at boarding schools across the UK.

The charity was formed in 2017 with the merger of the SpringBoard Bursary Foundation and the Royal National Children's Foundation. Since 2013, we have worked with more than 700 children and young people and 100 schools to ensure that genuinely deserving candidates from low-income families have access to bursaries at leading schools.

Our work is unique in that it fully embraces the Whole Child Agenda, which avowedly does not cherry-pick ‘the best and the brightest’ from the State sector. Instead, we seek to find appropriate boarding school places for all children who will benefit, whatever their educational profile.

Beyond securing boarding school places, we work with a range of community and mentoring organisations, State schools (Years 11 to 16) and Local Authorities to provide each child with significant pastoral support throughout their school years.

The Reed’s Foundation is at the very heart of our work as a Charity. Reed’s provides outstanding education and pastoral care to our young people and is absolutely committed to its values, which we share.  Reed’s provides a truly life-transforming education which has seen many of our pupils go on to achieve great things and return to give back to the Charity and help many others.
